Every year in Vallegrascia the first Sunday of July, takes place the festival in honor of Our Lady of Grace, which is called the church of the country. A procession accompanies the statue carried on the shoulder after the celebration of the Holy Mass, and recounts the episodes of the life of Mary by representing them with living pictures. The characters, perfectly still and fell in their role, create highly realistic and touching scenes. After the religious rites, the country tinged itself with vibrancy color for a folk afternoon with music and good food.

In winter, on the day of St. Stephen, the whole country goes back in time. You’ll be welcomed by the Roman soldiers, and the scribe who laboriously preparing the census, and then you’ll go into the town’s streets lit only by torches. You will see Herod and her ladies, the grinder that works beautifully, the shop where is woven wool. Then you will then see the Magi with their gorgeous clothes, take the main road through the village and go to the highest part, to bring their gifts to the poor hut guarded by the donkey and the ass, where shivering Joseph and Mary have settled with Jesus newborn . This is the Nativity of Vallegrascia, one of the most suggestive of Marche countryside, and often some snowfall makes the event even more magical. The cold doesn’t scare us, a pot of hot mulled wine waiting for you to warm up after a visit to the crib.

Not far from Vallegrascia, Montemonaco offers on the last Sunday of October the famous ‘Chestnut Festival’, an unmissable event for lovers of fine brown Sibillini Chestnut and of all the traditional dishes of the Marche.
Always in Montemonaco, the third weekend of July, takes plache the the ‘Wood Festival’, an event dedicated to the king of our forests, the Porcino mushroom, with interesting walks and a delicious menu.
